“I Don’t want to Know about Evil……I Only Wanna Know about Love…”

The words of the Dr John song are swirling round and round in my head trying to push aside the vision of ugliness that will not budge; sometimes we have to know about evil to remind us how we  need to love and care and look after and cherish the ones we love.; two legged and four.

This weekend I have been sitting at my computer with silent tears running down my face; I have been moved to write this blog today because of generosity and hope;  because of the compassion demonstrated by the  caring few and  in the hope that you too will be moved to action and help sure up the numbers of those willing to help.

I am repulsed that a person could so so much harm….. how can they sleep at night?

I make no apology for the grimness of the following images, sometimes we need a jolt of reality to spur us into action. ( This is an image of the dog now known as  Journey)

Photo: Journey is a mum dog from a southie pound who was picked up by our carer Sarah yesterday and taken into one of our vets. As you can clearly see, she has multiple health issues. Her new pups are no longer with her so amongst other things she has mastitis, a temperature of 40 degrees and possibly an infected uterus. The vets have her on a drip and will possibly need to operate on this soonish though that is extremely risky too. If she comes out of the vets she is going to one of our most skilled carers, Corinna, who will be giving her two hourly feeds due to her shrunken stomach. If anyone wishes to donate Womberooo (milk product) or good quality puppy food towards her care (Advance, Optimum, Royal Canin) we'd greatly appreciate the assistance. Drop off point for donations are Joondalup or Greenwood; collections can be made in most other areas including City of Swan where she is presently. Otherwise donations can be made towards her care via our website www.safeperth.com.au Please keep this special dog in your thoughts and prayers. (A)

However I am thankful that there are people who care. I am thankful that there are organisations  that will try and protect and nurture and rehabilitate such abused creatures.  Thank you  SAFE    http://www.facebook.com/pages/SAFE-Perth-Saving-Perth-Animals-from-Euthanasia/159572727452405

And thank you to those who are now looking after Journey’s pups.
