Here are the next books I intend to read in the near future but where to start? Have you read any of these? Any favourites here? What do you recommend I read first out of this growing pile, I know there are more books on the way in the mail 🙂 And for something a little different, in the next few months I will be reviewing some interesting looking cook books and hoping to whet your appetites with pictures of home made meals, juices and treats.
Carol – You have some lovely choices there! I couldn’t even begin to recommend a starting place, honestly. If forced I’d say the Carey, but that’s just me…
Hi Margot – so many choices…I have rad the previous Karen M Davis – so a new book by this author does have some extra appeal but really they all look interesting. In the mail I have the Billy Idol memoir – are you a fan?
I like some of his stuff, yes. Are you a fan?
I am Margot – I have been enjoying viewing some of his recent interviews promoting the book and the new album.
Very cool!
Lovely choices here…I would start with Fiona McIntosh….a fabulous Storyteller…..she doesn’t jump around all over the place and I find I can really immerse myself in her books! And a fabulous lady to boot! Happy Reading!
Thanks Dzintra – I haven’t read any of her books before so it will be interesting reading.
What a lovely collection, I haven’t read any of those authors, maybe just blindfold yourself and pick one!!!
So hard to decide Janine… some known authors and some new to me.
Oh and the cookbooks sound even more interesting, how did you get those to review?
Friends in high places 🙂 I asked.
The Lying Down Room but only because I like the spine! 🙂
I like the premise of this one Rebecca.
Ah, I must admit photos of the Kindle don’t have quite the same effect! The only one I’ve read is A Spy Among Friends – which I thought was very good…
Real books do have somewhat more appeal – and I like that you get to see the “blurb” /back cover which is not always on the ebook version. Looks like most of these books are “mysteries”.
I’ve just finished Nightingale which I enjoyed, I still have Us to read. Deadly Obsession and The Sunnyvale Girls are both good but the Taxidermists Daughter looks interesting? I hope you join the Weekend Cooking meme with your new cooking books 🙂
Hi Shelleyrae, yes some interesting reads here. You might have to talk me through the Weekend Cooking meme – the how to…
Just got my first new cook book – it is beautiful and full of the sorts of meals we like- Dan Churchill’s The Healthy Cook. Been flicking through looking at so many good things I want to try.
PS Just looked at the back cover of The Taxidermists Daughter, it starts ” In a churchyard, villagers gather on the night when the ghosts of those who will die in the coming year are thought to walk.” Very appropriate to start tonight.:)
I’m in non-fiction mode right now so I would highly recommend The Bush.
I work in an indy bookshop & the customer feedback on this one is very good.
Is that the Don Watson book? I have it waiting to be read.(My husband has already read and liked it)
