Naturally we have a something from the master – Stephen King, oldies but goodies and then a few more recent publications.
I dare you to read one of these!
What can you add to this list?

Oooh, you have some s-c-a-r-y books there, Carol! I almost put The Shining in my own list (to be posted in about 16 hours). But I sort of went in a different direction….
The Shining and the album Hotel California just keep giving chills. Spooky/scary can take so many different forms – I love the choice we have. Personally I like the understated…the atmospheric, the psychological elements in a suspenseful novel.
Oh, me, too! Those, to me, are so much more effective than slash-’em-ups…
Some good choices there! Only a couple I’ve read. I can kinda ‘do’ scary but not horror! (Too much of a scaredy cat!)
What’s your favourite scary book?
Probably an old Stephen King – like Salem’s Lot or something.
I remember feeling really unsettled after I read Thomas Harris’s Red Dragon years ago cos the manner in which the psychopath selected his victims was pretty random and I possibly double-checked my locks for a few nights afterwards! 🙂
Stephen King did write some beauties…I must check out some of his recent work one day.
I haven’t read Red Dragon but sounds like a book I would enjoy.
Yes, Thomas Harris wrote Silence of the Lambs!
scary!
To say I read crime fiction I hate being scared. I have absolutely no books to add to that list! 🙂
hehe…
