My View:
A brilliant police procedural – with heart!
This is the second in the DI Will Jackman series, the third already in print and I will confess that I binge read the two, one after the other last week. I do love a good series!
Jane Isaac writes a well plotted, masterful, engaging and twisty police procedural. Her protagonist has flair, charm, manners, intelligence, empathy and a tragic personal history. The policing feels authentic – nothing slick, no sleight of hand to magically tie up all the loose end. This is great story telling with wonderful characters.
PS the next book The Lies Within – is even better!
Reading, Writing and Riesling 
Oh, I do like a good police procedural series, Carol! And the best ones have solid characters and don’t wallow in gore. Sounds like this one fits the bill.

I think this would be s good series to ” binge read” – i do love reading a good series one after the other.
