We had a few long but interesting days driving across the Nullarbor and sleeping in campsites along the way- very little by the way of modern conveniences- little mobile phone coverage, no internet, no electricity…but beautiful weather and scenery, and starry starry nights.
The long stretch of highway:
Glad you’re safely wired back in, Carol. And those ‘photos are gorgeous, ‘though the places look awfully empty and lonely. I wouldn’t want to be stranded there, ‘though they’d make great places for crime fiction…
Great places to set a crime Margot – wide open spaces, desolate, or some say peaceful, quiet -except for the constant trucks rolling past:) It is actually a very busy highway.
I imagine having that disconnect was perfect for enjoying the scenery.
It was – there are not many places these days where you have little or no mobile/internet connections. It is relaxing you don’t realise how invasive social media can be till you don’t have access. 🙂 ( PS have saved on really great pic to post now I have internet- maybe tomorrow) It is amazing!
